Andreas Woppmann, Ph.D. has served as our Vice President, Manufacturing Operations since January 2009. Prior to joining ARIAD, he served as Vice President, Pharmaceutical Development, Operations and Quality at Indevus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from 2005 to 2008. From 2002 to 2005, Dr. Woppmann was an independent consultant, advising and assisting U.S. and European biopharmaceutical companies regarding product development strategies, operations and quality systems, global regulatory requirements and agency interactions. Dr. Woppmann also previously held the position of Senior Director, Quality at Antigenics, Inc., from 2000 to 2002. He held multiple analytical product development, quality control and management positions at Biogen, Inc. from 1996 to 2000 and earlier in his career, he served as Senior Scientist and Group Leader at Cell Genesys, Inc., and Scientist at Neurex Corporation (now Elan Corporation). Dr. Woppmann received his doctorate degree from the Free University of Berlin for research conducted at the Max-Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics in Berlin, Germany.
