Job Title: Corporate Counsel II
Description:
The Corporate Counsel will work under the management of the General Counsel and will be a Legal Dept. liaison with our R&D and Clinical/Regulatory Teams in support of clinical trials.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties will include extensive contract negotiation and drafting of a wide variety of contracts (e.g., clinical trial agreements, informed consent forms, service agreements, and vendor contracts.). The Corporate Counsel’s duties will involve daily interaction with external entities such as research hospitals and universities, contract research organizations, third party vendors and other companies, as well as interactions with ARIAD’s scientific, medical, regulatory, commercial, intellectual property, business and financial department personnel.
Job Requirements:
The successful candidate must possess the following:
- J.D. degree from top 15 law school (top 20%), and a minimum of five years experience in large nationally ranked law firm and/or pharmaceutical or biotechnology company with primary responsibility for drafting and negotiating relevant agreements.
- Degree in a relevant scientific discipline and/or background in FDA or EU/ROW regulatory environment highly desirable.
- Self-starter with ability to think and work independently and in a group environment. Strong interpersonal skills with ability to function effectively in an entrepreneurial, high-energy team environment to support teams in meeting their corporate objectives.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills. Attention to detail is critical. Very strong conversational, negotiation and written communication skills.
