The National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship is the oldest survivor-led cancer advocacy organization in the country, advocating for quality cancer care for all Americans and empowering cancer survivors. Amschwand Sarcoma Cancer Foundation (ASCF)

The Amschwand Sarcoma Cancer Foundation (ASCF) was established by Tom Amschwand with the purpose of educating the public about sarcoma, supporting those with the disease, and encouraging sarcoma-specific research. Since its inception in 2001, ASCF has helped establish a physician scientist program, which provides seed money to sarcoma researchers.  It has offered temporary housing to numerous patients traveling to Houston for medical treatment through their Shared Families Program and has raised awareness of this disease, and the needs of those affected by it among members of both the general and scientific communities.

Jennifer Hunter Yates Sarcoma Foundation (JHYSF) Inc. is committed to providing funding for sarcoma research, education, and patient support, as well as promoting awareness of this rare disease. Karen Wyckoff Rein In Sarcoma Fund

The foundation funds the Karen Wyckoff Sarcoma Research Fund, which is the primary sarcoma fund of the University of Minnesota. Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative

The Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative publishes the Electronic Sarcoma Update Newsletter (ESUN), a peer-reviewed bi-monthly online publication for sarcoma patients, caregivers, survivors, oncologists, nurses and other members of the medical team. It is actively involved in the funding of sarcoma research grants internationally in a wide variety of sarcomas. Its website contains a wealth of information about sarcomas and is accessed tens of thousands of times monthly.

Founded in 1999 by sarcoma survivor, Suzanne Leider, the Sarcoma Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing guidance, education and support free of charge to sarcoma patients. Its website offers resources on treatment options, various sarcoma information, as well as provides access to a variety of support networks already established for adults and children with sarcoma.

The mission of the Sarcoma Foundation of America (SFA) is to act as an advocate for increased research to find new and better therapies with which to treat patients with sarcoma. The SFA raises its own funds to provide research grants to sarcoma researchers. The SFA also interacts with public, private for-profit, and private nonprofit organizations to raise awareness of the treatment needs of sarcoma patients.

Sarcoma Medical Alliances

Sarcoma Alliance for Research through Collaboration (SARC)

SARC is a non-profit organization created by a group of sarcoma specialists in 2003 to serve as an advocate for sarcoma medical research and for the conduct of clinical trials relating to possible treatments for sarcoma. SARC facilitates dialogue and collaboration among sarcoma researchers and clinicians, assists in the development and dissemination of protocols for clinical trials and information relating to sarcoma research and the results of clinical trials, administers research grants and funding for clinical trials, and acts as a primary resource for those treating sarcoma.

European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) Soft Tissue and Bone Sarcoma Group (STBSG)

The EORTC STBSG was founded in 1976 to develop, stimulate and co-ordinate studies on all aspects of the treatment of soft tissue sarcomas (STS) and to organize congresses, symposia and conferences to promote these studies. The EORTC STBSG has members from 56 institutions from 14 countries. The founding members came from Italy, France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, UK and the Netherlands. The central EORTC office is located in Belgium.

Connective Tissue Oncology Society (CTOS)

Formed in 1995, the CTOS is an international group of physicians and scientists with a primary interest in the tumors of connective tissues. The goal of CTOS is to advance the care of patients with connective tissue tumors and to increase knowledge of all aspects of the biology of these tumors, including basic and clinical research. Since its founding, CTOS has grown to an organization of more than 400 members representing over 30 countries.
